The Ubele Initiative has been chosen as an official partner in Yo!Fest 2018, Strasbourg!

We are pleased to announce that the Ubele Initiative has been chosen as an official partner in Yo!Fest 2018, Strasbourg!

Yo!Fest 2018 is taking place on 1 and 2 June 2018. It is linked to the European Youth Event (EYE2018). This unique opportunity for young Europeans to make their voices heard will attract up to 10,000 of them.

The Ubele Initiative was invited to shape the programme of Yo!Fest 2018. The first partnership meeting took place in Strasbourg at the beginning of this month. Yvonne Field attended this planning weekend to meet several of the other partners (national and international organisations) and to explore opportunities for collaboration with them during the event.

There will be 5 hubs included in the programme: Calling for a fair share, Working out for a Stronger Europe, Staying alive in Turbulent times, Protecting our Planet, Keeping up with the digital revolution.

The Ubele Initiative has been asked to run workshops on young women from minority communities and their political participation within Working out for a Stronger Europe hub.  Several young women from Ubele’s pilot programme, PatHERways London, will be attending to lead these workshops, plus young adults from other Ubele programme will also be invited.

Between 20 and 50 young people can attend via Ubele (depending on the final level of sponsorship secured). Look out for more information from us by early January 2018.
